Why do people get so angry when nothing bad has happened?

Yesterday on my drive home I thought a car was going to cut me off.  They weren’t slowing down fast enough and looked like they might go.  So I slowed down.  This really pissed the driver behind me off!

He was going nuts.  Honking, yelling, and shaking his fist.

Of course, as soon as he got the chance he got to the side of me gave me a death glare and flipped me off?

I laughed.  His wife (or lady in the passenger seat) looked pretty embarrased by his behavior.

So, really why do people act like this?  Nothing bad happened.  No one was hurt.  So what - he had to slow down because I was being cautious.  Where was the harm?  Why do adults behave like this?
